How to make a Lotus Biscoff milkshake in 6 steps
Step 1: Prepare the Biscoff rim
A beautiful finish starts with the glass. Put some Biscoff spread in a small bowl and the Biscoff crumbs in a second bowl.
Preferably use a smooth spread so you can easily and evenly coat the rim of the glass. For this, you can use the Lotus Biscoff spread, for example.
Step 2: Decorate the glasses
Dip the rim of each serving glass carefully first in the Biscoff spread and then in the Biscoff crumbs.
This creates a crispy and sweet Biscoff rim that not only adds extra flavour, but also gives the milkshake an instantly festive look.
Step 3: Chill the glasses
Place the decorated glasses in the fridge or freezer while you make the milkshake.
This allows the decorated rim to firm up a bit and ensures your glasses are extra cold when you serve the milkshake.
Step 4: Blend the Biscoff milkshake
Add the vanilla ice cream, whole milk and 125g Biscoff crumbs to the blender.
Blend everything until you get a smooth and creamy milkshake. Is the shake still a bit too thick for your liking? Then gradually add a little extra milk and blend again until you reach the desired consistency.
The combination of vanilla ice cream and the caramelised biscuit flavour of Lotus Biscoff creates that typical rich Biscoff taste.
For the crumbs, you can finely crush Lotus Biscoff biscuits yourself.
Step 5: Give the glass an extra Biscoff touch
Take the cold glasses from the fridge or freezer.
Using a spoon or squeeze bottle, drizzle some Biscoff spread along the inside of each glass. Then carefully pour in the milkshake.
Want to further refine the presentation? You can also use a little Lotus Biscoff topping. You can also use this as a topping for ice cream, desserts, pancakes or coffee.
Step 6: Finish your milkshake
Now comes the fun part: the topping.
Finish each milkshake with:
- a generous dollop of whipped cream;
- some extra Biscoff crumbs;
- a Lotus Biscoff biscuit;
- optionally some extra Biscoff topping.
Add a straw and your homemade Lotus Biscoff milkshake is ready to serve.
Extra creamy or rather a bit more liquid?
The ideal thickness of a milkshake is personal. With 750 ml of vanilla ice cream and 300 ml of whole milk, you'll get a quite rich, creamy shake.
If you find it too thick, add a small amount of milk at a time. This prevents the milkshake from becoming too liquid too quickly.
If you primarily want the Lotus Biscoff flavour to stand out, make sure the biscuits, crumbs, and Biscoff spread are nicely distributed throughout the shake and the garnish.
A summer treat for any occasion
A Lotus Biscoff milkshake doesn't just have to be for a hot summer day. The recipe is also fun as a dessert, at a garden party, with a summer brunch, or as a treat for the whole family.
Especially the combination of the cold vanilla ice cream, the creamy Biscoff spread and the crunchy biscuits makes it interesting: you get creamy, refreshing and crunchy in 1 glass.
Serve the milkshake immediately after blending. This way it stays nice and cold and retains its creamy texture.
Make it your own Biscoff creation
The basic recipe is simple, but you can certainly get creative with the finishing touches.
For example, make an extra thick rim with Biscoff crumbs, add a little more topping to the inside of the glass, or stick an extra biscuit in the whipped cream. This way, every milkshake looks slightly different.
For a party, you can prepare the ingredients in advance and decorate the glasses. It's best to blend the milkshake itself just before serving.
Straw in, feet up, and enjoy. 😎
