Vandeca at the Kiwanis Galloo Run 2024 in Menen

At Vandeca, we believe it's important not only to share treats but also to create beautiful moments. That's why in 2024, we once again participated in the Kiwanis Galloo Run in Menen, a special event where people with disabilities experience an unforgettable day aboard classic cars, dream cars, and trucks.

After our great experience during the previous edition, we didn't have to think twice: the Vandeca candy truck had to be there again.

During the Kiwanis Galloo Run, a striking procession of vehicles parades through Menen. Classic cars, trucks, and dream cars form a colorful convoy in which people with disabilities take a seat for a special ride.

There's also a lot to experience along the route. Spectators gather along the road, waving to the participants and enthusiastically cheering on the passing vehicles.

It's not about speed or competition, but about sharing a wonderful day together.

And that's exactly what we at Vandeca wanted to contribute to again.

For our participation, we once again brought out a striking familiar face: the candy truck of our own candy brand Les Folies De Lowie®.

Dieter, founder of Vandeca, got behind the wheel. Beside him, Melissa took her place as co-driver.

For Melissa, it was a special adventure. From the candy truck, she could experience the full atmosphere of the procession, see the enthusiastic people along the route, and of course, help make the ride a real party.

After the success of our previous participation, it felt good to be part of this initiative again.

A Vandeca candy truck driving through Menen without handing out candy? That would, of course, be incorrect.

During the ride, Dieter and Melissa handed out various candies to the enthusiastic spectators along the route.

From lollipops to soft and sour candies from well-known brands like Haribo, Chupa Chups, and Fruit-tella: plenty of sweets were provided.

The fun along the roadside was contagious. Children and adults waved to the vehicles, participants enjoyed their ride, and an enthusiastic atmosphere hung everywhere.

Sometimes you don't need much to bring a smile to someone's face. A piece of candy, a wave from a colorful truck, and above all, enjoying the moment together can make a big difference.

Afterwards, Melissa spoke about how much she had enjoyed the day and that she was already looking forward to the next edition.

And ultimately, that's exactly what the Kiwanis Galloo Run is all about: providing participants with an experience they can fondly remember for a long time.

For us too, it was special to experience that enthusiasm up close.

we continued to distribute even after the ride

The candy supply was not limited to what was distributed during the procession.

After the ride, we also handed out Libeert chocolates and Jules Destrooper cookies to those present at Kiwanis Wervik.

Dieter looks back on the day with great pleasure:

"Even after the procession, we distributed Libeert chocolates and Jules Destrooper cookies to everyone present at Kiwanis Wervik. Everyone showed great gratitude, and that was wonderful to see. Through a small contribution from us, we were able to give many people a nice day, so of course, this edition was once again a true success!"

It is precisely these reactions that ensure that participation like this goes much further than just driving a truck through the city.

Vandeca is located in Menen. When initiatives take place in our own environment that bring people together and create beautiful memories, we are happy to contribute to them.

The Kiwanis Galloo Run fits perfectly with that idea.

The event brings together participants, supervisors, volunteers, drivers, organizations, and spectators around one simple goal: to give people a fantastic day.

The fact that we could contribute a small part to this with our candy truck and products makes us particularly proud.

The Kiwanis Galloo Run 2024 was once again a day for Vandeca to look back on with great pleasure.

Melissa experienced a wonderful adventure from the candy truck, there was plenty of waving and snacking along the route, and afterwards, we were still able to make many attendees happy with chocolate and cookies.

But the most beautiful part of the day was undoubtedly the enthusiastic reactions and smiles of the participants.

Thanks to Kiwanis Wervik, all volunteers, participants, drivers, and attendees who made this edition something special again.
